அரிதிலும் அரிது!
விழுந்த விதைகள் எல்லாம் துளிர் விடுவதில்லை.
எழுந்த துளிர்கள் எல்லாம் செடி ஆவதில்லை.
நிமிர்ந்த செடிகள் எல்லாம் மரமாவது இல்லை.
வளர்ந்த மரங்கள் எல்லாம் பூப்பதில்லை.

பூத்த பூக்கள் எல்லாம் நற்கனி ஆவதில்லை.
கனிந்த கனிகள் எல்லாம் நல்விதை ஆவதில்லை.
விதைகள் எல்லாம் மண்ணுள் விழுவதில்லை.
இதை எல்லாம் கடந்து உயிர்க்கும் உயிர் அரிதிலும் அரிது.

Creation of Life is an infinitesimal probability. The beauty of probability is that it gives some confidence that it can happen! And it happens!! God has done enough to make this happen in small but adequate quantum, unless man tampers with it! These days we hear of many countries anxious about their low population growth rates. May be these current concerns has made RaKi think about the small but adequate probability created by God. Timely thought, RaKi. Let us praise the Mind behind that!

ReplyDeleteExcellent RaKi. You have highlighted the value of precious life by listing out the hurdles it faces before manifesting as a reality i.e. life. I imagine that plant life can be taken as a metaphor for any life form. Some of the possibilities become a reality only after a long & hard won battle for survival. May be the author wants to leave a hint that we should celebrate such a precious life for betterment of humanity at large.The beauty of the poem is such that if we keep aside the concluding lines of the poem, the poem can be started all over again - the last line meaningfully merging into first line (reg seeds). A thought provoking poem indeed. Well done RaKi.
